In case you have not heard, Israel has recently announced that they have discovered the worlds largest natural gas reserve off the coast of Haifa. This could have a profound effect on the balance of power in the Middle East. The company that found the gas drilled two miles under the sea bed of the Mediterranean, deeper than has ever been drilled before, or so I hear. This would release Israel from dependence on the oil barons, some of whom oppose the very existence of the State of Israel. The USA also has huge natural gas and oil reserves, most of which remain untouched. While this is not the answer to our energy crisis, it would free us from supporting terror through by our energy consumption.
